(ConservativeJournal.org) – According to a poll from Civiqs, former President Donald Trump’s popularity has lately increased a lot. The latest figures indicate that Trump’s approval rating is at the highest it’s ever been since the end of 2021.
According to the survey, 41 percent of registered American voters currently hold a favorable view of Trump, while 55 percent do not.
The uptick in Trump’s approval comes at a critical time as the 2024 presidential run draws closer. Election forecasters have analyzed eight recent polls and found that Trump is averaging nearly two percentage points ahead of President Joe Biden. Trump having a slight lead over Biden means that the competition for the presidency will be tough this year.
Civiqs, which tracks public opinion data dating back to September 2015, has amassed responses from nearly 400,000 registered voters to gauge Trump’s favorability. Trump’s net approval rating has been steadily positive since March 2024. This is a huge improvement when compared to the last two years, during which his approval rating wasn’t good at all. Trump’s lowest post-presidency approval rating was recorded at the end of 2022.
Despite his increasing popularity, Trump is also dealing with a slew of legal issues. He was recently on trial in New York, accused of falsifying business records to cover up a hush-money payment to a former adult actress, which he allegedly made before the 2016 elections. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges. He was found guilty and the sentencing is in June.
The recent increase in Trump’s approval ratings shows a major shift in public perception and highlights his enduring presence in the Republican party. As Trump navigates his legal issues and prepares for his battle with Biden, his rising popularity shows that no matter his controversies, the raw amount of support behind him still makes him Biden’s biggest threat.
