(ConservativeJournal.org) – Idaho Republican Gov. Brad Little signed an executive order on Tuesday, July 9 to abrogate the possibility of illegal criminal border crossers voting in elections held within the state.
The “Only Citizens Will Vote Act” instructs Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane to purge all noncitizens from voter registration rolls in the state. Additionally McGrane is charged with working with local county clerks to ensure it is impossible for illegals to register in the future.
One of the ways they’ll combat illegal voting is by working with the Idaho State Police and Idaho Transportation Department to verify that anyone registered or who wants to register to vote in the state is a legitimate citizen. Additionally, McGrane was instructed to coordinate efforts with the Department of Homeland Security to verify new registrations and identify any potential illegals on them already.
Little suggested that Idaho’s elections were already “the most secure” compared to other states in the union. He added that the measure was a necessity given the regular incursion of thousands across the southern border every day.
The order will also prohibit agencies within the state from giving out voter registration documentation to noncitizens or working with any federal agency or program that distributes voting registration instructions to illegals. There’s also a requirement that any state agency working with the feds or entering into a new relationship with a federal agency can only do so if the registration of illegals isn’t included as a part of the deal.
Little and McGrane published a statement highlighting that Idaho already is strict when it comes to voting rights, but said that there were additional steps like the above that would enhance the security of Idaho’s elections. He additionally suggested that Democrat-controlled states were disenfranchising Americans from voting by attempting to register noncitizens and encouraging them to illegally vote.
Despite the 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act expressly prohibiting illegals from voting in national elections, Democrats have taken steps to encourage illegal-voting anyway. Many illegals, when asked on video, state their preference for Joe Biden.
