(ConservativeJournal.org) – Texas Gov. Greg Abbott slammed President Joe Biden’s administration for its failure to defend the southern border and allow over 11 million illegal aliens into the country after assuming office and gutting former President Donald Trump’s border policies. Abbott told crowds at the Republican National Convention on July 17 that the “result has been catastrophic.”
Abbott said Biden “deserted his duty” immediately upon taking office. He also told convention-goers that he tried multiple times to get Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to visit the border and inspect the situation for themselves. When they refused or ignored his request, he decided to bring the border to D.C. He expanded the concept by shipping illegals from Texas to all major sanctuary cities around the country which were already institutionalizing the import of illegals by passing legislation to prevent local police from cooperating with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Abbott said Texas shipped “over 119,700 illegal immigrants” to major cities and they’ll continue to bus them until they stop coming over the border in droves. He said the situation was so desperate that he ordered the Texas National Guard and other Texas-based law enforcement to deploy along the border to help manage the crisis. He highlighted that they lined major crossings with razor-wire fencing and how the Biden administration attempted to interfere by suggesting the fencing was illegal.
Abbott told audiences that after Biden ordered the wiring be cut, he tripled their deployments. He suggested voters “fire Joe Biden and Kamala Harris” in November’s general election.
Abbott added that he fully expects Donald Trump to be the next president, and implied that upon taking office, Trump would restore order to the border.
Democrats have argued that Trump’s border policies are cruel and “separate families” while refusing basic security like rapid genetic testing to guarantee that children who come across the border with groups of adults are in fact related to the child and not victims of international child trafficking.
Numerous whistleblowers have come forward to highlight the danger of allowing lax border policies and their impact upon children coming across the border.
