Movie Ticket Tycoon, 64, Leaves Note Then Jumps to His Death From Luxury Manhattan Hotel

(ConservativeJournal.org) – J. Michael Cline, the founder of movie ticket company Fandango, recently committed suicide by jumping off the roof from a luxury hotel in New York City, according to the authorities. Cline was found early in the morning of Tuesday, July 16.

New York City police responded to the scene around 10 AM, at the Kimberly Hotel in Manhattan. They discovered Cline with heavy injuries consistent with a fall from a high position. He was pronounced dead 30 minutes after being found.

The medical examiner’s office has yet to release details about the cause and exact manner of Cline’s death. The investigation is still ongoing, but police have stated that no criminal activity or foul play is suspected at this time.

Cline was a well-known entrepreneur. He founded a movie ticket company Fandango in 2000 and remained with the company until 2011. Fandango is now part of NBCUniversal, which also owns NBC News. Cline graduated from both Harvard Business School and Cornell University, according to his personal profile on Linkedin.

He was the chairman and director of Acumen, a company he created in 2010 that provided large hospitals with lab operations outsourcing, until 2017. In 2007 he also founded Accolade, which is a health services provider for big businesses and hospital systems. He has served as its chairman and creator until 2022.

Cline also held the position of operations director at Accretive, a company that provides startup funding. Accretive has not yet released a statement about his death.

Cline was also deeply involved in conservation efforts. He served as chairman of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and expressed his dedication to protecting wildlife and natural habitats in a 2020 annual report. In the report, he emphasized the importance of maintaining conservation progress.

Cline married his wife, Pamela, in 1995 and according to multiple news outlets, they had six children together.
