(ConservativeJournal.org) – Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) suggested President Joe Biden’s response briefing on February 8 confirmed the findings in Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report. The report claimed Biden is mentally incompetent to stand a trial for his potential criminal handling of classified documents.
The report said categorically that Biden kept and discussed classified materials, but that charges weren’t appropriate because prosecutors suggested a conviction is unlikely due to Biden’s advanced age and “poor memory.”
Biden had a press conference the same day the report was released wherein he referred to Egypt’s President Sisi as “the President of Mexico.” He also became visibly angry at reporters’ suggestions that voters were rightly worried about his age and mental decline.
The report charged that Biden’s memory failed on multiple counts, including an inability to recall the years he served in the Obama administration as Vice President (2011-2017) as well as the year his son, Beau Biden, died (2015). Cruz suggested that the Department of Justice accidentally told the truth about Biden’s complete lack of mental fitness and now the Democrats are scrambling to do damage control.
Cruz said that Biden’s presser “confirmed everything” that the Hur report claimed about Biden’s lack of mental fitness during an episode of his podcast, “Verdict.” He pointed out that Biden failed to recall where he acquired a rosary that he wears all the time as a tribute to his dead son.
It’s been a string of bad news for Joe Biden lately. He gaffed again on February 13 during an appearance with King Abdullah II of Jordan. Biden appeared lost and confused as to where he was supposed to stand after turning the podium over to the king.
Biden also forgot the name of Hamas, the militia fighting Israel and the government authority in Gaza. He referred to French President Emmanuel Macron as President Mitterrand, who died in 1996. He similarly referred to German politician Angela Merkel as Helmut Kohl, another deceased man who formerly held the same position as Merkel.
