(ConservativeJournal.org) – Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing gave thanks to DailyWire+ subscribers for helping to make the action-comedy “Lady Ballers” a success. The feature-length film mocks transgender-identifying men who hijack women’s sports for their own aggrandizement and was released on Friday, December 1st.
In his announcement discussing the launch, Boreing indicated the film heralded the most new subscriptions in a single day, generated a ton of digital buzz on social media, and earned a whopping 97% approval on movie review website Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of writing it still has 96% approval from over 2500 audience reviews).
The film garnered over a thousand reviews within its first 24 hours of being available for streaming online on Rotten Tomatoes.
The plot follows Boreing playing the role of failed basketball coach Rob who uses modern gender ideology to rack up a series of wins with his team of men who pretend to be women. Boreing’s squad of ‘trans women’ compete and win in a variety of women’s sports.
Calling it the “most Daily Wire thing we’ve ever done,” in comments with Gad Saad on his podcast, “The Saad Truth” on Dec 1, Boreing indicated that the film featured a wide variety of Daily Wire contributors and hosts and was written by long-time employees.
He further said they initially had trouble recruiting talent to act in the film due to the controversy surrounding transgender ideology and a tendency in Hollywood to “cancel” or refuse to employ anyone who holds conservative opinions on the matter.
During a prior discussion with Tim Pool on his popular podcast Timcast IRL, Boreing said they had kept the film a secret until it came time to promote it to avoid sabotage by activists during production. Boreing suggested they had deliberately avoided early promotions.
Alternative film studios are becoming more popular and proving their content is financially successful. “The Sound of Freedom” from Angel Studios recently swept the globe. It is a controversial and intense thriller based on the true story of Tim Ballard, a former DHS pedophile hunter turned international child rescuer who risks his life to find trafficked children.
