(ConservativeJournal.org) – A woman with a history of mental health problems who previously identified herself as a man was shot and killed after she opened fire at Lakewood Church in Houston on Sunday, February 11.
Genesse Ivonne Moreno, 36, entered the church carrying a rifle and with a small child in tow and began shooting. Moreno was killed by members of law enforcement who were in attendance carrying concealed firearms.
Unfortunately, the seven year old child was shot and critically injured during the exchange and remains in the hospital “fighting for his life,” according to Houston Police Chief Troy Finner.
Finner added that the child is the biological son of Moreno. He also said that a familial dispute was believed to have been the trigger for the woman’s psychotic episode. He reported recovering “antisemitic writing” from her home.
Morena has gone by several aliases, including identifying as a man. Texas Department of Public Safety lists “Jeffrey Escalante” as one of them and reveals a litany of criminal convictions over the years including assault, theft, weapons, and drug charges.
Moreno was believed to have been operating alone and isn’t affiliated with any organization. She did have “Palestine” inscribed on her rifle.
Moreno’s attack marks another incident of “transgendered” individuals engaging in mass violence. Last year another woman who believed herself a man attacked a Christian school in Nashville and killed three kids and three adults before being shot and killed herself by police responding to the incident.
In November 2022, a shooter identifying as “non-binary” opened fire in a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs.
Just this past January, another transgender identifying man was arrested by the FBI for making terroristic threats after posting on Facebook that he was “bullied by trans phobic a**holes” and may “go out in a blaze of glory.” He also suggested there isn’t “any point living.” Attached to the post were images of firearms.
