Barron Trump Declines Offer To Be RNC Delegate

(ConservativeJournal.org) – The son of former First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump, Barron Trump, has turned down an invitation to represent Florida as a delegate at the Republican National Convention.

A statement released by Melania Trump’s office revealed that Barron said he was honored by the offer but had to decline due to having other commitments. It was also mentioned that Barron still might be too young to take any big political responsibilities as he is still finishing high school.

Barron Trump’s decision also coincides with his upcoming high school graduation. This is an event that his father, Donald Trump, received special permission to attend amidst his ongoing legal proceedings in New York.

This news came shortly after Barron, along with his siblings Eric, Donald Jr, and Tiffany Trump, were named as possible delegates for the Republican party. While his brothers and sister were selected as delegates, Ivanka Trump was notably absent from the list. The decision to involve Barron Trump in political matters already at his young age goes to show that Donald Trump’s children will always eventually become involved in his political life.

The convention, scheduled from July 15 to July 18 in Milwaukee, will see Eric Trump leading the delegation as its chair. Among the at-large delegates are Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancée, and Michael Boulos, Tiffany’s husband. The inclusion of these figures shows how close the ties are between the Trump family and the Republican Party in Florida.

The state’s Republican Party experienced internal upheaval in December, following allegations of sexual assault lodged against its then-chairman, Christian Ziegler. His suspension and subsequent replacement by Evan Power marked a turbulent period for the party leadership. Despite these challenges, Power expressed confidence in the Florida delegation. He emphasized the collaboration between the leaders, elected officials, and members of the Trump family in preparing for the 2024 Republican National Convention.
