(ConservativeJournal.org) – President Joe Biden’s polling has improved somewhat according to recent polls tracked by RacetotheWH, a website that aggregates polls for the 2024 presidential election. The tracking site shows Biden ebbing out ahead of Trump in eight of 12 recent polls.
The most recent poll of only 833 registered voters taken between April 5 and 9 showed that Biden was favored by 41 percent of respondents while Trump came in with 37 percent.
Biden’s chances of winning tracked by the gambling site Polymarket have improved as well in recent weeks, though he’s still behind Trump.
Other polls lean toward Trump’s victory including a recent survey by Emerson College. They queried 1438 voters and found Trump with 51 percent of the vote versus Biden’s 49 percent. The poll occurred on April 2 and 3.
Biden’s current obstacle is the ongoing conflict in Israel. Over the weekend, Iran attacked Israel with a salvo of drones and missiles which inflicted little damage, but satisfied their political propaganda needs. Iran was retaliating for a strike by Israel on its consulate in Syria which resulted in the deaths of seven people.
Associate Professor Thomas Whalen with Boston University said that the poll results are a good indicator for Biden, but they aren’t by any means guaranteeing a victory. He highlighted that the margins are still very close, and with seven months left anything could happen between now and then that could sway voters one way or the other.
What is clear is that the electorate is divided between support for the two men. Whalen cited a previous mayor of Chicago who said the only poll that matters is the one on election day. Whalen said that predicting human behavior is incredibly difficult due to our nature to be unpredictable.
Heath Brown is a professor of public policy with City University of New York. He also encouraged temperance with regards to the results. He called it “a very close race” and advised that the trend of it being a tight race could continue well up to election day.
