(ConservativeJournal.org) – Facebook has removed the prominent right-wing account, Libs of TikTok, saying that it committed multiple violations of its community rules. The account’s owner, Chaya Raichik, revealed the platform’s action via a post on Twitter, expressing disappointment with Facebook’s approach to free speech.
Established in April 2020, Libs of TikTok is well known for its vocal opposition to woke activism and has garnered a substantial following across various social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, totaling nearly 3 million followers.
Raichik criticized the ban and said that Elon Musk’s Twitter is much better for free speech. She reaffirmed her commitment to open dialogue, stating that despite increasing censorship from big tech, especially Facebook, platforms like Twitter remain where truth can be shared.
This is not the first instance of Libs of TikTok facing sanctions on Facebook. Last year, the account was deactivated following allegations made by Raichik regarding Boston Children’s Hospital. The hospital subsequently reported receiving threats from people associated with the page who said they were sent from it.
Facebook’s community standards serve as a framework outlining what can be accepted on its platform. The biggest issues it covers are so-called hate speech, alleged misinformation, and privacy concerns. As the one of the biggest social media platforms ever, Facebook emphasizes its responsibility to maintain what it calls a safe and respectful online environment.
Raichik officially revealed that she ran the Libs of TikTok account in December 2022, after journalist Taylor Lorenz leaked her identity as the owner of the page. She later appeared on Tucker Carlson’s Fox Nation show, discussing her motivations for coming forward and why she started the account.
Expressing her desire to be more influential without anonymity, Raichik stated her intention to engage in public speaking and continue her advocacy against what she says is the liberal agenda that is poisoning the youth.
