(ConservativeJournal.org) – Several Fox News hosts are openly expressing doubt about the House Republican efforts to impeach President Joe Biden, saying that there is a huge lack of evidence supporting corruption allegations, even in the aftermath of Hunter’s indictment. With a focus on claims of personal gain from his son Hunter Biden’s overseas business ventures while in government, the House of Representatives voted 221-212, mostly along Republican lines, to begin an impeachment investigation into Biden. Committees that are currently involved now have new legal authority to subpoena people for further inquiries now that the probe has been made official.
The White House and Hunter Biden’s lawyers have vehemently denied the allegations, and the impeachment inquiry has faced criticism for its aforementioned apparent lack of substantial evidence. Despite Fox News maintaining a predominantly negative and partisan stance on Joe and Hunter Biden, one notable figure expressing reservations about the impeachment probe is Fox and Friends co-host Steve Doocy. On a recent episode, Doocy remarked that House Republicans possess “ledgers and spreadsheets” but have failed to connect the dots indicating wrongdoing by the president. He also highlighted Republican Senator Chuck Grassley’s admission that there is “no evidence” against Biden, as reported on an episode of the show from last week.
Doocy’s constant criticism of the impeachment investigation led Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer, a key House Republican involved in the inquiry, to announce a boycott of his appearance on Fox and Friends. Comer cited Doocy’s stance as the reason, saying that the average Fox News viewer disagrees with Doocy’s opinions. Fox News’ Bret Baier also pressed House Speaker Mike Johnson on his support for the impeachment inquiry, initiated by Kevin McCarthy without a House vote, despite Johnson’s earlier criticism of “single-party” impeachments during the Democrats actions against Donald Trump. The ongoing discourse on Fox News reflects divisions within the network regarding the impeachment proceedings against President Biden.
