(ConservativeJournal.org) – Eight individuals whom the mainstream media have labeled only as a “mob of juveniles” have been charged in the killing of a 17-year-old Las Vegan by the name of Jonathan Lewis. The high school student was allegedly pummeled and sat upon by a group of as many as 15 other students after he reportedly stood up for a smaller classmate whose headphones had just been stolen.
According to a number of reports, the assault took place on November 1 in an alleyway adjacent to Rancho High School. Police officers were dispatched to the scene at around 2:00 p.m. and reportedly found Lewis unconscious and bleeding from a severe head wound.
Paramedics transported the teen to the hospital and his condition quickly deteriorated. Doctors were forced to place the student on life support and he succumbed to his injuries six days later, according to Lewis’ father.
The family has set up a crowdfunding page to assist with his medical and funeral expenses. Jonathan Lewis Sr. described his son as loving, protective and kind and the teen’s friends and family have insisted that his actions on November 1 were heroic.
Supposed videos of Lewis’ pummeling began appearing on social media not long after the story was first reported and users uniformly lambasted what they insisted was the legacy media’s tilted coverage of the events. Ian Miles Cheong, who has around 850,000 followers on Twitter, posted cell phone footage of the attack and asked users what would happen if the races of the involved individuals were reversed.
Lewis happened to be white and his alleged attackers appear to be black. Sharika Soal, a black reporter for the conservative Gateway Pundit, told her followers that legacy outlets were complicit in covering up a hate crime.
In their coverage, The New York Times, CNN, USA Today, Huffpost, NBC, ABC, CBS and People Magazine have chosen not to include the footage in question.
