(ConservativeJournal.org) – Mainstream media seems to be portraying the heinous murder of an elementary school-aged Palestinian-American boy as the latest in a series of ongoing racially-based attacks. While it’s entirely possible that race may have played a role in the 6-year-old’s death, few outlets have chosen to point out that the child’s killer was reportedly on extremely good terms with the boy’s family prior to the incident.
According to authorities, a 71-year-old Illinois man by the name of Joseph Czuba entered the Plainfield home of an unnamed Muslim family on October 14 and allegedly went on a stabbing rampage. The family in question, whose size is not known, is said to have originally emigrated to the United States from the Palestinian territories.
Czuba happened to be the home’s legal owner and the victimized family were his tenants. Once inside, he allegedly began slashing both the mother and her young son. The boy was stabbed close to 30 times and the mother was reportedly slashed approximately 12 times.
As the attack unfolded, the terrified and injured mother was able to manage a desperate call to 911. Deputies with the sheriff’s department were dispatched and upon their arrival they reportedly discovered Czuba sitting outside the residence with a gash on his forehead. The landlord was taken into custody and chose to remain silent about his alleged motivations.
Both mother and son were rushed to the hospital. The 6-year-old succumbed to his wounds soon thereafter and his mother’s injuries were serious enough to warrant an extended hospital stay. According to what she told authorities, Czuba shouted anti-Muslim slogans during the alleged attack.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, also known as CAIR, said the family had been Czuba’s tenants for a full two years without incident. In that time, they say Czuba installed a treehouse for the boy and routinely brought him toys. The 71-year-old landlord has been charged with murder, attempted murder and hate crimes.
